Assessment Services
Psychological assessments can support treatment planning with your therapist, inform conversations with your prescriber, or help with requests for certain accommodations. Plus, it can be interesting to learn more about your unique strengths and areas of growth.
Evaluations are conducted in-person and via telehealth in Vermont, and by telehealth in New York. Asylum evaluations are offered in Vermont only.
Reports will be available within three weeks, unless there are specific circumstances that require further follow-up. I also offer same-week ADHD evaluations on a limited basis, please reach out to discuss this option.
Sometimes it is not clear what kind of evaluation you are seeking. If that is the case, I would be happy to meet with you to determine if I can support you. If I am not a fit, I can provide you with appropriate referrals.
ADHD Evaluations
ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent difficulties with attention, impulse control, and/or hyperactivity that significantly impact daily functioning.
ADHD evaluations typically involve a thorough clinical interview, questionnaires, and rating scales for you and family members or teachers. Evaluations may include cognitive assessment. The process usually takes several hours across one or more appointments, with a final feedback session.
Symptoms of ADHD can be easily misdiagnosed. If you are experiencing long-standing struggles with attention, focus, or organization and these symptoms are getting in the way of your schooling, work, or relationships, an ADHD evaluation may be helpful.
PTSD Evaluations
PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. This condition is often characterized by intrusive memories, avoidance, negative mood changes, and feeling jumpy or on edge.
PTSD evaluations typically lasts 45-60 minutes. Please note that this evaluation requires discussing difficult material.
Understanding if you meet criteria for PTSD - and if so, how it shows up for you - can inform your medical and psychological care.
Asylum Evaluations
Forensic asylum evaluations are delivered to individuals and their attorneys as part of an application for asylum to the United States. This specialty evaluation service can last several sessions and includes a structured clinical interview and cognitive assessment. Interpretation (in person or over the phone) is offered for non-English speaking asylum applicants.
I offer asylum evaluations through my affiliation with the University of Vermont’s Connecting Cultures clinic, which serves refugees, asylum-seekers, and torture survivors throughout Vermont with legal, psychological and social work aid.
Please contact me directly to discuss sliding scale and pro-bono evaluation options.
Psychodiagnostic Evaluations
Comprehensive psychological evaluations can help to diagnose mental health conditions, assess your cognitive functioning, and understand your personality traits. My goal is to create an accurate diagnostic picture that goes beyond surface-level symptoms and truly reflects what you're experiencing.
These evaluations conclude with recommendations tailored to your specific strengths and clinical needs.
